The Libido language editing session, held from June 17th to 21st at Wachemo University, was a significant step in the ongoing efforts of the Ethiopian Language Documentation and Digitization Project. This session brought together dedicated translators and editors who focused on refining and standardizing the Libido language. The event aimed to enhance the accuracy and consistency of the language’s documentation, ensuring it is preserved and accessible for future generations.
The participants received comprehensive training from project initiators, including Dr. K. Sekhar, Mr. Eyasu Tilahun, and Deputy Director Mr. Habtemaraim. These experts provided invaluable guidance on best practices in language documentation and digitization. Their mentorship equipped the translators and editors with the necessary skills to meticulously edit and translate Libido texts, contributing to the broader goal of preserving Ethiopia’s rich linguistic heritage.
